Powder alert!

Where to get fresh pow Sunday morning: Cascades (Mt. Baker, Stevens Pass); Idaho (Schweitzer); Tetons (Grand Targhee, Jackson); Montana (Great Divide, Bridger Bowl) Baker and Stevens Pass should be quite deep and lowering snow levels mean blower pow up high. I’d say Grand Targhee and Jackson should also be great for first chair on Sunday … Continue reading

Targhee now has 100 percent of its terrain open, a 53-inch base, and 10 feet of snowfall for the season with lots more snow on the way this week. We just loved ripping 2,000-foot-vertical laps from open to close. I can’t wait to get … Continue reading

In addition to snow, temperatures … Continue reading

Loveland is opening Tuesday, Oct. 23! Meanwhile, ski areas in the Sierra have been getting pounded with 2-4 feet likely on favored ranges and aspects. Snow is also hitting the Cascades, Tetons, Wasatch and, soon, the Rockies in Colorado. And it’s only October! I think we have a long, powder-filled winter ahead of us.

The story: I first tried Pako’s on draft at the Snake River Brewery in Jackson, Wyoming in January 2011 while on a ski trip with my buddy Brian after ripping deep powder all day at Jackson … Continue reading
