Laramie Mountain Bike Series Race #3 tomorrow

LMBS Race #3 is tomorrow evening. The race course is posted here. Will anyone in the Open Men category manage to beat Steve Stefko who has won eight LMBS races in a row going back to June 2011? Should be a great time tomorrow.

Hammering in the woods: LMBS Race #2 photos

(Updated 7/5) The Race #2 course was brilliant. A great mix of everything including a tough ascent on Aspen that had some riders hallucinating. I had a great time watching everyone hammer down on some sweet singletrack and technical sections. I rode the long loop twice: once to shoot photos and again at the end … Continue reading »

Laramie Mountain Bike Series Race #1 Photos

(Updated 6/22) LMBS Race #1 photos. It was sweet being out on the course, shooting this race and seeing the tremendous positive energy. I look forward to racing as soon as my rib heals! I went down hard a week before the Gowdy Grinder (still raced in the Grinder though) and the rib is still … Continue reading »

Plan now for WYDAHO Rendezvous Mountain Bike Festival in July

Three reasons to attend the WYDAHO Rendezvous Mountain Bike Festival, July 27-29: it’s in the Tetons; it’s all about mountain bikes; and it’s sponsored by Snake River Brewing.  Nuff said.  Registration and details available here.

Camping, mountain bikes, fire and beer

Saturday we loaded up the truck and headed to the local mountains to camp for no reason at all.  We just wanted to be outside, pitch a tent, ride some singletrack and drink beers by a fire.  On the way to look for a camp site in the Vedauwoo/Happy Jack Recreation Area, a thunderstorm rolled … Continue reading »

Gowdy Grinder Mountain Bike Race Photos

303Cycling has my Gowdy Grinder article posted here (http://303cycling.com/2012-Gowdy-Grinder).  On Sunday I raced in the Intermediate category of the Gowdy Grinder at gorgeous Curt Gowdy State Park in southeast Wyoming.  Following my finish (16th out of 58), I immediately grabbed my camera and headed out on the course to capture the Open Men and Women … Continue reading »

Race day: time to grind at Gowdy

I’m heading to Curt Gowdy State Park this morning to ride in the Gowdy Grinder with 200 other gear brains including my friends Brian Johnson and Steve Stefko who are driving up from Fort Collins to race. I’ve been “training” for this race by going on my normal rides and by racing in Laramie Short … Continue reading »
