We’re down in Fort Collins, Colo., for a two-year-old’s birthday party today. I thought I’d squeeze a ride in this morning before the festivities start this afternoon. The weather had a different idea:

Here’s the current national satellite/radar image. A low pressure trough is pushing through Colorado throughout the day, thwarting my outdoors plans.
This is a fairly cold weather system, and the mountains got snow last night. Here’s the scene at A-Basin this morning.
And A-Basin’s Continental Divide cousin Loveland Ski Area:
It’s blue skies up in the mountains right now, but it’s dreary and wet down in Fort Collins.
The trails will be sloppy and muddy. I don’t feel like being tough and roughing it in cold, wet conditions today. The best I can do is take the dogs for a short hike and wait to ride another drier and warmer day.
